I just can't win with QQ. It's my biggest ring loser, go out of more tourneys with it. Even when I make the right call, I get sucked out on. Here's the latest one.

Raised pre to .20, moron reraises me to .35. Have him marked as a loose fish so I put him ai and he calls. Even if I had just called the .35, I don't see this moron folding the flop with a gut shot.

How about a reraise not all in pre. (.80c)

How about c-betting the flop ($1) - and betting the turn...(all in)

I think the TURN was the time you could get the guy to fold.

maybe even all in on the turn...

I know for a fact, though, that there are players on Full Tilt who would make this call anyway.

One thing is for sure - This was a bad beat - but it definately wont happen everytime.

Nice hand, I would have played it more cautiously knowing Full Tilt.

If a moron is going to call ai pre with QJo, an .80 reraise is not going to deter him, neither will a c-bet on that flop. The only time he might have folded is the turn, but I doubt it.

Playing it a little more cautiously would have paid off on the turn.

*He probably WOULD have folded on the turn.*

Unless he was a mindless donk (which he could have been) who is playing every hand and never folds.

But hey, you can't complain too much - you got your money in good, that's the idea.

These types of beats dont happen unless you are way ahead to begin with.

It's poker baby!

:)

Well he was a mindless donk-that's pretty much what I had on him for a note.

I must have caught it.

I've lost with queens (aip) 4 times today all against dominated hands.

My many, many months of losing with QQ appears to have come to an end. Playing rush tonite, got QQ in 3 of 4 hands!!!! e1f to 2 of them and doubled against a big stack who had AKo.

Now lets hope they hold in tourneys.

I remember in Phil Hellmuth's blog about playing the QQ:

Quote:
Hellmuth recommends that beginners get all their money in the pot preflop if they can. The only exception to this advice is if you’re re-raised by a super-tight player. This strategy saves new players from having to make tough post-flop decisions that occur when playing QQ.

For the more advanced player, Hellmuth says that you should trust your reads. If the players behind you are tight or passive, he recommends raising your QQ from early position. However, if you realize that a player behind you is raising limpers with a wide range of hands, Hellmuth says that you should consider limping to trap the overaggressive player. When your opponent raises, you can re-raise and put the pressure on him.

But I don't want to take big risks early on because I can outplay most poker players and get a better stack without putting all my chips in ever.

QQ, I feel your pain as it is my own.
I prefer 1010 over QQ.

QQ is no better than 27 offsuit (I don't care what the odds are). It just makes you push in chips when you'll probably lose . Don't push until you see the third Q.

Note to self, TF likes to play QQ :-D

If the turn and river comes, I guess my decision when my opponent reraise me when he is bluffing. If i have only 2 outs when playing the QQ hand, i'll fold when there is a reraise on the turn or river.

In this situation I'm just going to call his reraise to see that there is no ace or king on the flop. After the flop is no ace or king I'm likely going allin, hoping he hasn't hit any trips. The gut shot he had could have been an open ender but allin would deter most players from continuing. That is if you had been playing fairly tight up to this point, as I usually do in these games. Better luck next time!

July must be the month for QQ. Shortly after I won this hand, I lost AA to QQ. Luckily it was one of those sstkrs that bring in less than $1 so it didn't hurt too much.

NOTE TO TB: Notice who it is!! ;)
