It's been a bad month of poker for me. Sure, I have the occasional place in the money, but not as much as before. I just got off a nasty bad luck streak about a month or two ago and it seems like it found its was back to me.

I can't even remember the amount of times my higher pocket pair was beat by a lower pocket pair due to a harsh flop or running cards. Seems like all this month when I get people where I want em, they end up getting tremendous luck to beat me. Because of all these harsh beats, my mind can't take it anymore. I guess the people who play a lot of tournaments and cash games online constantly, will definitely be seeing more bad beats due to the large amounts of hands you play in that day.

I've just turned 21 the week before new year, so this is the year I will have to start getting my name out in the live tournaments and see how that goes.I don't consider myself some hot shot great poker player, but I do believe that I can beat most of the field in a live tournament due to the experience of amount of hands I've played online. Or so I can only hope.

Online poker has tremendously improved my game and I think I can step it up another notch, but I definitely won't step it up a notch if I continue to play with a bunch of fish at 10$ sit n goes.

There's a PFO carbon freeroll registering right now, I guess I'll play that and see how it goes, but other then that, I think I will be taking a break from cash buy in games.

Ok, so I gave it a go again and the last three $5.+.50 sit n goes I've played on Absolute I've not only placed, but I finished 1st in them all for a total profit of $51.00.

Post subject:  The American dream

Playing poker at a professional level has become considered part of the American dream. Who wouldn't want to make a living playing cards. I think that the only drawback to playing poker for a living would be the amount of psychology needed to keep a guy who sometimes loses $10,000 in one day at the poker tables from shooting himself. lol
all professional players claim the emotional toll of the ups and downs in poker are the worst part of being a professional player. It is how you handle these situations that determine rather can handle the emotional strain of being a professional poker player.

The nasty bad beat streak has left for now. Seems like my best hands have been holding up. I've even been getting some luck on my side as well as when it comes down to show downs and races. My bankroll at AP just reached triple digits again and hopefully it will stay that way.

Tournament poker is a tough way to make a living, and the variance is so high you often need one hundred plus tournaments just to kind of figure out if you're a winning player. Many of the famous tournament pros you see have backers to help cover variance, and a lot of guys end up owing money at the end of the year. My advice would be to get your cash game skills down, so that you can use some of that profit to fund your tournament play, and with a good bankroll, you won't get as stressed when you have a bad tournament streak.

Well, I'm not sure I wouldn't get stressed out. Having a bad streak in cash games seems to be worse if you think about it, since you would probably lose a lot more in cash games then you would in tournaments. Plus, I don't like playing cash games online much. I prefer playing it live. I've always made all my bankrolls from scratch just mainly playing sng's and tournaments, so why change something that's working for me.

Played in at a friends home game last night. It was a $10 buy in tournament with 12 people(two 6handed tables). Some of my friends could be considered fish as some others were good. There was one person I didn't know but I picked up a tell on him. He couldn't help but shake his hand nervously when bet out with a big hand. Haha. Well, I played pretty good. Nice n tight that's for sure. Seems like that's what I had to do because everyone was playing pretty loose it seemed like.

It came down to my friend Ben and I for heads up. What sucked is that he was chip leader and then took out the second chip leader (KK to AK). So Ben had a huge chip lead over me and I had no chance in all reality to win it. I went in with the best hand when It came down to the final hand. I had top pair and he rivered his open ended straight on me.

I took $30 for 2nd and was satisfied with the way I played overall. It was a really fun game to play and it's nice to play live after playing so much online lately. Well, that's pretty much it for now. I'll continue to update my status over time.

At a buddies house, I'm pretty sure you don't know him. The only person you know that played in it was probably Miker. He busted out like 8th or someshit.

Yeah, there's usually nice cash games I play with a bunch of friends so I'll message you or something. We usually play like a $10 min buy in with .25/.50 blinds. Nothing to crazy but the pot does get nice n big sometimes from so many rebuys.

That sucks, dude. Instead of playing it through till all you money is gone, why not just stay away from the buy in games for a couple days and just stick to freerolls. This is usually what I do when I have a bad streak. I'll play a couple freerolls and I try to stay away from buy ins as much as possible when I have a bad streak. My bad luck streak seems like it came and went faster then the previous one I had. Hopefully you're luck will turn around soon

Post subject:  well done

Well done ron on you two great wins, I like you play freerolls if things are going badly, so sin2win think rons suggestion is a good idea, try it anyway you can always go back to cash games, again well done ron hope to see you in tonights cake freeroll but I cant at the moment find the pw, I think it is just a bit early in england so will look again later, dont give it to me if you know it dont want to get into trouble, see you later.

Keep it up ron, you're doing well. And if you can keep your head above the craziness that happens in the freerolls, you'll be ready for anything that happens at the higher levels.

Believe it or not donk plays hapene at the higher levels too! A friend of mine played in a $250 entry tourney and a guy called his all in with 34! And won!

So donk never leaves... but by playing freerolls, you'll be well immune to it... i hope!
