De l'enfance de l'art

As the name could let you imagine many things, i would say that i'm still a child when it comes to poker and i need to learn more about poker than i already did in the past 2 years while playing with you all fellows, if i ever want to become a shark at the tables.
That's why i will have to read more and play less, for a while. I already downloaded "Super System" "Ace on the river" and "Theory of Poker" but couldn't find anytime to read them. So i will also provide here my own question about them. The goal for me is not to improve my english, lol, but to improve my poker game.
Of course, i won't stop playing poker and will post here my best achievements, if happening with some pictures.
I know that most of you guys know me quite well and i would like to have your point of view on my gameplay, that's why i will also send some of my HH through .zip files to be decompressed as .xml and watched in the Universal Replayer (http://www.pokerfreerollsonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3094), nor possible on any sites, i will only copy the HH.
Hope that you'll enjoy this :

Welcome Arach.
:welcome:

Good to see that some french players are looking for new forums to stop by. I feel like you will enjoy our games at PFO, even though i can't play in most of them as its start very late when you working the day after, but this community is as friendly as the one we both known.

After a delay, i finally find time to post some more informations in that thread.
I can't play much here at PFO in last months, but always appreciate its familly atmosphere. As you may have noticed, i'm not really following my wishes yet, as my game didn't really improve.
I didn't read any of the e-books i download, nor only pieces of them. :oops:[size=84]I still make some good results, mostly in forums small buy-in games, but can't find enough time to play big field tournaments nor PFO games anymore. A good poker session for me don't exceed 3 hours and a half usually.

So i decided to play some :evil: games today. I tried the 10:10 am $2+0.20 HORSE game at Carbon. Made it up to the FT, but couldn't reach the money. Maybe it last a bit too long as get busy with dinner at this time usually. At the same time i tried a 8 players HORSE Sng at FTP $2+0.25 and finish 3rd with $3.20.
Then later on during the evening here in France, i played a $5+0.50 forum NLTH BI game at Titan with only 12 players involved as usually, and finish 2nd catching $40, thank's to the money added. At the same time i played a 16 players HORSE (again) SnG at Tilt ($2+0.25) and won it for an extra $12.80.
All in all, seems like i done well in HORSE game today and will continue practicing thoses. I missed the 9:15 am HORSE game at Tilt, but will give it a try soon.
As always in PFO games, i lost with my monster AA to a pp T's hitting trips on flop during second level.:leave:
I always need to play here a bit to remind how lucky i need to be to win games.

Hey,
As a personnal place for me to post, i want this space to lodge my different BR and their updates. I never deposited yet on any room and didn't withdraw any money either, so that you peeps could see what i did from nothing during past 2 years.
I really start playing poker once i became an active member here at PFO, with our HU WTA game when i earned $50 while winning the game. This were my first real winnings which gave me confidence to play more games all around the web offers with some modest successes. I now reach some good amount on several rooms, which, with my 2 years experiences, i manage quite well not to be broke.
My wonder is to develop my lowest BR, and keep the others to the same level or make it grow slowly. As i don't consider yet this money to be mine and don't need it to live, i plan to withdraw the later i can. Let's say that i'll need to reach $500 on each room before i decide to withdraw 2/3 of it.
But no more vain words, let's numbers talk.

  • ReeferPoker-->$0.27
  • WinamaxPoker-->$0.36
  • GnufPoker-->$0.69
  • EverestPoker-->$0.79
  • SunPoker-->$1.14
  • VCPoker-->€0.91
  • WassPoker-->$1.50
  • CDPoker-->$2.80
  • Poker770-->€3.51
  • RedKingsPoker-->$11.58
  • HollywoodPoker-->$19.00
  • PokerStars-->$20.70-->$15.20
  • IntertopsPoker-->$25.96
  • PitbullPoker-->$35.37
  • DoylesRoomPoker-->$38.55-->$38.90
  • CakePoker-->$43.39
  • FullTiltPoker-->$158.43-->$182.09-->$214.44
  • AbsolutePoker-->$148.25-->$132.15
  • CarbonPoker-->$193.26-->$202.76
  • PKR-->$197.06-->$229.58
  • TitanPoker-->€241.67-->€306.23
  • BodogPoker-->$551.56-->$539.76

:welcome:

I was looking at the offer there as i don't have much on my BR (only $15) and could probably play a game or 2 at the $3.40 level.
I'll pm you when i feel ready to spend a part of my BR, then we'll plan the date.
I hear that the structure was quite different than FTP one, with longer levels which might give it another taste.

I'm still playing those lovely HORSE games at Tilt, and my BR to grow slowly and my experience as well.
Here is a hand i had during my last game:

Full Tilt Poker Game #13880372576: $2 + 0.25 Sit & Go (102366921), Table 1 - 120/240 - Limit Omaha H/L - 16:44:12 ET - 2009/08/07
Seat 1: wickedbawls (5,500)
Seat 4: granore (2,840)
Seat 5: hojediade (1,585)
Seat 6: 6flowerbee9 (2,075)
wickedbawls posts the small blind of 60
granore posts the big blind of 120
The button is in seat #6
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to hojediade [7h 5h Ad 5s]
hojediade raises to 240
6flowerbee9 raises to 360
wickedbawls folds
granore folds

There i hesitate a bit, but knowing what i saw earlier i decided to smooth call.

hojediade calls 120
*** FLOP *** [6c 3s 5d]
hojediade bets 120
6flowerbee9 calls 120
*** TURN *** [6c 3s 5d] [4s]

6flowerbee9 calls 145
*** SHOW DOWN ***
hojediade shows [7h 5h Ad 5s] a straight, Seven high, for high and 6,5,4,3,A, for low
:cool:
6flowerbee9 mucks
hojediade wins the high pot (1,675) with a straight, Seven high
hojediade wins the low pot (1,675) with 6,5,4,3,A
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 3,350 | Rake 0
Board: [6c 3s 5d 4s Js]
Seat 1: wickedbawls (small blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 4: granore (big blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 5: hojediade showed [7h 5h Ad 5s] and won (3,350) with HI: a straight, Seven high; LO: 6,5,4,3,A
Seat 6: 6flowerbee9 (button) mucked [6d Qh 2d 5c] - HI: a straight, Six high; LO: 6,5,4,3,2

And the guy to complain about loosy players few seconds later. :nice:

And then i let the others fight altogether, won one hand in razz with 6 high vs 8 high and almost double-up to become CL. Then i only had to wait a bit and play HU. Didn't took me as long as my last HU as it only last 3 minutes. :happy3:
Here are the last 2 hands.

Thank's Frost.

I had a good time at Carbon tonight playing the HORSE Freeroll with max players engaged as i won't it. :)
I was not to play it for long as i was cooking and having dinner with my little familly, but i made a good start and get involved somehow. I've been cooking for half an hour and double-up quickly between cooking and dinner (probably 10 mn) then sit out for next half an hour or more and when i came back only 60 players were remainin with me having 3000 chips left and being in troubles. :twisted:
I can't tell how it happens as i don't really know it myself but i reach ITM with second lowest stack, then FT with lowest one and won it finally at level 26 with blinds 100000/200000.
I guess my training at FTP playing HORSE Sngs has been useful and i will probably enter soon small buy-ins MTT HORSE, to see if i can place in thoses too.

Hey fellows PFOers,

Sunday morning

Here I come back with some updates from my H.O.R.S.E quest.
I didn't play much games thoses past weeks, but decided to move-up from $2.25 to $5.50 BIs, as my BR at FullTilt now reach +$150.
I played 3 games (8 players tables as usual with top 3 paid) and won 2 while finished 5th in the third. :nice:

Here is a nice quad in Limit Stud Hi, hit on 1st street as i had trip T in the hand, which led me to the money:

And the positive results:

Updating my quest with a private game with some well known PFOers players aboard.

A new line to my "palmarès".

:)

To tell the truth, i had a blast winning that game.

I moved up from $2.25 to $5.50 in my quest, as my BR at FTP now reach +$200.
The tables seems to suits me as well as at a lower level, with even less variance in results . But i know that 6 games aren't good enough to know if i'm doing well or not.

Here are my results at 8 players HORSE Sngs tables:

09/20/09-->1st-->$20 - A good start... :nice:
09/25/09-->5th-->$0
09/27/09-->1st-->$20
10/01/09-->5th-->$0
10/02/09-->3rd-->$8

No more HORSE games for me since the french laws on online gambling became operatives. We are not allowed to play varieties anymore, except NLTH and PLO.

Anyway, i withdrew almost everything from all .com pokerrooms and only remain active on some of them that still tolerate french players as Carbon or Doyles, why i still can play some of PFO games, once in a while.

So my poker quest went to a radical change and i'm now mostly trying to build something on .fr poker rooms such as FullTilt or PokerStars that are both allowed in my country. BTW, all foreign players are allowed to play on .fr platforms, if they satisfied the routine.

I don't play more than i did in past months, which means an average of less than 10 hours a week. Don't give me much chances to earn some good results...

Except this one maybe.

This first place earn me a ticket to a special €650 10 players SnG.
