I have never been to Atlantic City, but I have been to Las Vegas several times, visiting relatives and gambling a bit. I want to know your thoughts about both places if youve been there.

I'd imagine that Atlantic City is great for gambling, but not everyone like to gamble ALL the time, what is the entertainment like in AC? Are there good shows?

Tell me your thoughts... Thanks!!!!

I have not been to Vegas, would love to go sometime. I have been playing at the Borgota when I am in AC. It has a nice table room with lots of daily SnGs and large tournaments. I have been there about 5-6 times, not going to the other casinos cause I enjoyed it so much. I usually play the low limit tables 2/4 and 3/6.

Again, nice tables, good looking cocktails, and a good environment.

There are some decent shows as well, seems like Vegas gets the LA crowds and AC gets the NYC crowds, never been to one though.

Having never been to AC I can only speculate, but I can't imagine anything like Las Vegas as far as night life goes. They have some of the largest clubs, the loosest laws, and the biggest names in entertainment. Granted everything is very pricey, it seems they have a pretty strong "non-gambling" environment.

AC is like a mini Las Vegas. If you want to see the real thing, go to Vegas. If you only have a few days, or even a weekend, AC is your best bet.

Never been to either. I heard Atlantic City was nothing close to Las Vegas though.

i have been to vegas and cant imagine ac is anything to compare to it. for one, i never felt unsafe walking the strip in vegas, or downtown. i cant say the same about ac as its my understanding that its not advisable to veer too far away from the casinos due to high crime. i mean if your close to ac, and thats your home base, so be it, but nothing beats vegas.

If I were to go anywhere besides Vegas for a gambling/drinking trip it would be Reno or Tahoe, Ill stay away from AC

there is only 1 las vegas, nothing else compares to it. as far as atlantic city goes, only vegas can compare with the gaming and entertainment that they have. they have famous live performers every week and plenty of casinos to choose from. not sure where people heard it was a bad neighborhood, unless you are a suburban white picket fence type. all the casinos except the borgata are on the boardwalk, which means you can walk to all of them, two are actually connected together. if you don't feel like walking, for a couple of dollars you can sit in a little cart and get pulled around by the guys working the boards. they have a great nightlife there at the bars and also outside decks on the beach with live music. only reason why anybody would complain about A.C is if they busted their bankroll in my opinion.

Never been to Las Vegas or Atlantic City. I like the Blue Chip in Michigan City, Indiana. I grew up on Lake Michigan. While Michigan City is small, it hold these two aminites. Makes for a fun time. Since I'm a small town girl I prolly wouldn't make it past the scene of lights in Las Vegas or Atlantic to even play in those casino's.

AC is a huge wasteland. I have have been there many times, and it gets worse and worse each time. Bordering the outdated casinos is 100% ghetto, and there is zero nightlife or anything to do other than gamble. If you want a gambling getaway in the northeast Foxwoods, Turning Stone if you're 18-20, or Casino Niagara are all better places.

The decision is even easier if you have to fly to get there. AC's airport is small and expensive to fly directly into, so most people fly into Philadelphia and drive the 90min or so there. By time you get there you might as well have gone to Vegas.

If you just want to go play poker, consider LA and Commerce Casino. They have the largest poker room in the country and spread all limits.

No question Vegas. If you got the cash you can have a really, really good time out there. Pretty much can do anything you want if you have enough money.

would love to go to either. I have never been. I am so much closer to A.C. I might eventually make the 6 hour trip, but with table games opening here in PA soon might not have to. pittsburgh only 1 and 1/2 hours away.

I would give my left leg to go to either! Couple of years from now I am going to go to the WSOP if it kills me.

Been to ac and was not impressed at all, I would rather go to turning stone or foxwoods than ac.
